We are pleased to invite you to
This year, the Swedish Society of Veterinary Ophthalmologists (SSVO) is proud to host the meeting. The conference will be held at Quality Hotel The Weaver, conveniently located close to Gothenburg city centre with easy access by airport, train, or car.
The scientific theme of this year’s meeting focuses on advanced clinical management and surgical innovations in Glaucoma, Corneal Surgery, and KCS.
Our main speaker, Dr. Stefan Kindler, is a distinguished expert and leading figure in the field. Since 1996, Dr. Kindler has led his own ophthalmic specialist referral clinic in Wiesbaden, Germany with up to 6 veterinary ophthalmologists, seeing 300 to 400 eye cases a week. He has been reponsible for the ophthalmology curriculum at the University of Giessen since 2008. He is an active board member of the ESVO and has given almost 300 presentations and wetlabs for veterinarians, veterinary ophthalmo- logists and MD ophthalmologists in Europe, Asia, North and South America. Dr. Stefan Kindler is a well- known face and a friend of many of the Nordic members, and we are honored to have him share his expertise with us.
We also welcome additional speakers who wish to give short oral scientific presentations. Please see the call for abstracts below for details.
The meeting will begin on Thursday, 8 October at lunchtime with a light sandwich, followed by the traditional Slide Test, National Meeting, and Nordic Meeting. A welcome dinner will be held at the hotel on the first evening.
On Friday, 9 October, we will be inspired and intellectually enriched by Dr. Kindler’s lectures. This day will be a full day dedica- ted to Glaucoma, covering modern management and the newest updates within diagnostic and treatment strategies. After the lectures, we will enjoy a guided sightseeing tour aboard Gothenburg’s historic trams (Ringlinien), and a Gala dinner at Universeum, including a 3D movie experience in the Wisdome 360 cinema.
On Saturday, 10 October, Dr. Kindler will continue his exciting lecture series, focusing on Corneal Surgery with different approaches and advanced treatment to complex cases, and finally updates on Keratoconjunctivitis Sicca (KCS) with newest insights into treatment and long-term care. By the end of the afternoon, we will all leave as wiser and more knowledgeable ophthalmologists than just a few days before.
